🌟 BMS Service Squad Spreads Gratitude! 🌟
Our incredible Service Squad at Brownstown Middle School put their hearts into action by creating heartfelt cards and donating snacks to show appreciation for our local medical professionals! 💜💌
Each snack was wrapped with a custom note, reminding our healthcare heroes how much we value their dedication to our community. The squad delivered these care packages to Henry Ford West Rd. Emergency Room, Downriver Pediatrics, and Woodhaven Pediatrics—and the smiles said it all! 😊✨

🌎🍌 A Taste of Culture in Spanish Class! 🍌🌎
Last week at BMS, Spanish 1 students got a hands-on lesson in Latin American cuisine! Ms. Alaniz and Mr. Rye teamed up to introduce students to plantains, a staple in many Spanish-speaking countries. Students learned how plantains can be cooked and even got to sample a fried plantain paired with Jarritos, a traditional Mexican soda.
What a fun and delicious way to bring language and culture to life! 🎉✨ #WBSDCulture #SpanishClass #HandsOnLearning #TasteTheWorld

📚 Celebrating Black History Month in Our Libraries! 📚
Ms. Michelle Miara, Media Specialist at Woodhaven Upper Elementary, Brownstown Middle School, and Woodhaven High School, is dedicated to fostering a love of reading through a diverse book collection. This month, she’s spotlighting books written by African American authors, celebrating Black culture and history, and featuring Black characters.
“We have worked hard to create a diverse book collection and promote Black History Month across all three libraries. Students are engaging with these books, sometimes choosing stories they may not have traditionally picked, which is a great step toward expanding perspectives and understanding,” said Ms. Miara.
📸 Look for the “Celebrate Black History Month” image in the school slideshow at WUE, BMS, and WHS! #BlackHistoryMonth #WBSDReads #DiversityInLiterature
