We Love our Paraprofessionals!
Yake Elementary Student Council continues their efforts to make sure all groups working with children at Yake Elementary School know how much they are appreciated. This month, we are proud to recognize our paraprofessionals. They help our students in so many ways each and every day. We love our paraprofessional family at Yake Elementary School!







Students from the Dental Program at Woodhaven High School recently competed at the Regional HOSA Competition, held at Grosse Ile High School.The students took first through third places in dental science, and also placed in CPR/First aid and Health Career Display categories. Those who placed will be moving on to the State HOSA Conference at Grand Traverse Resort April 16-19. The Warrior Trade at Woodhaven High School will be open all day on Friday, February 7 for your spirit wear needs! It will remain open in the evening during the basketball games for patrons and the community to shop! Go Warriors!




Due to predicted extreme weather that could bring ice and hazardous conditions, all Woodhaven-Brownstown School District schools will be closed on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Please stay safe!


Students in Mrs. Kosztowny's GSRP classroom at Wegienka Elementary School met some new animal friends when Science Alive came to their classroom. One animal was long, another was small and soft! The students enjoyed learning about the animals in this unique way.

WHS Dance Team hosted their Winter Junior Warrior Dance clinic and performed at the basketball game tonight! Great job to all our performers! Go Warriors!


Kindergarten students in Mrs. Weitzel's class at Gudith Elementary School recently learned about groundhogs and how they live and burrow! The students read a story and made their predictions on whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow on February 2! Of course they also had a special groundhog treat, too!








Happy Chinese New Year! Chinese New Year began on January 29 and lasts until February 12. 2025 is the Year of the Snake, which brings the Snake’s wise and intuitive energy. The Snake, symbolizing wisdom and transformation, offers opportunities for personal growth and change. May this year bring prosperity, joy, and growth to all who celebrate! 🎊

As part of their January project, the Brownstown Middle School Service Squad spent their time preparing signs focusing on promoting the message of INCLUSION! In preparation for the Unified Basketball game against the Woodhaven Police Department, the club members created signs to share encouragement and gratitude.







Students in Mrs. McNamee's third grade at Gudith Elementary School worked together to color and complete a gigantic puzzle of MLK. They researched famous MLK quotes and wrote them on their traced hands that they colored with multicultural colored crayons. The project will be displayed outside the classroom through the month of February during Black History Month as a reminder of the contributions Dr. King made to society.
