If you haven't checked the calendar, Winter Break is fast approaching for students! Classes resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Students took to the runway at Woodhaven High School recently as they showed off their creativity participating in the Newspaper Costume Dress Project. WHS students in Introduction to Theatre and Play Production classes worked in teams to create costumes using only newspaper and masking tape from design and construction to the final product.
The objective of the project was to find a period prior to 1900, and create and style a full length female costume. The designers were encouraged to be creative and ambitious with a high level of difficulty and intricacy. The students had four class periods to collaborate together as a group and construct the dresses. Students acted as model, stage manager, commentator, and more to showcase the dresses. There were 13 dresses featured on the runway on November 26, 2024.
“The annual runway show is a great culminating project focusing on vision, collaboration, accountability, and demonstrating course content in a fun, hands-on way,” said teacher Michael Clemons.”“It is so great to see the students’ pride in their work and their enthusiastic support of each other.”
The winning team included Samantha Syverson, Addison Walter (model), Bella Newman and Cooper Fondaw.
