Welcome BMS Students and Families for the 2024-2025 School Year!!!!!!!!!!!!
Student Schedules: Schedules will be available online in student and parent connect on August 22nd. We will have paper copies available on the assigned Walkthrough dates and the first day of school. Parents will need to review their child schedule online before attending open house.
Student Walkthrough/Schedule: We have a few changes. We will run 2 days for this event. Parents and students can enter the building through the main front doors or by our band doors from the back-parking lots. 6th & 7th grade schedule will be located in the Gym. Once you have your schedule you have time to walk the building, locate your locker and find your student’s classes.
1. August 22th 7th or 8th grade schedule pickup (9am – 2pm) – In the Gym
2. August 26th 7th or 8th grade schedule pickup (9am – 2pm) – In the Gym
3. August 28th – Open House (5:00 pm – 6:30 pm)
4. September 3rd - First Day of school (8:00 – 2:45pm)
OPEN HOUSE: We will have our Open House as planned, but it will look a little different since we have multiple buildings running open houses on the same day. Open House will run from 5:00-6:30pm on Tuesday August 28th, the BMS Staff will be located in their classrooms. This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet with their teachers, ask questions and explore the building. Please review your child schedule before attending. We will have a variety of food trucks that will be onsite in the back parking lot and available for staff, and families to purchase treats.
Lockers & Chromebook:
1. Students will receive their Chromebook the first week of school.
2. Students will receive their locker and combination when they pick up their schedules next week. Our lockers have Master locks on them - turn right, left, then right again.
3. Turn dial after you close your locker door to lock the locker.
PTO Meeting: Our first PTO Meeting will be Monday September 16th @ 6:00 p.m. Please enter through the front doors.

FIRST WEEK TIPS: To make sure the first few days of school run stress free for your child please make sure:
A. It might be a good idea to pack a lunch for the first day or two if you can because lines will be long as students will be learning the process.
B. For the first day your child only needs to bring a lunch, something to write with and a notebook/folder. Nothing else is truly needed the first few days.
C. Your child knows their bus route number and street address.
Picture Day: BMS picture day will be in September 13th. We will send out more information as the date approaches.

NJHS & Student Council: Dates were changed for schedule pickup. An email was sent to all NJHS and Student Council students to signup to help pass out schedules.
Parent Connect Updates: In Parent Connect on the top there is a link that states 2024-2025 Back to School Packet. Our school district is asking that you update your Childs contact information. School Meal Program: All families are encouraged to complete the Education Benefits Form for the Michigan School Meals Program. Families that qualify for free and reduced meals are eligible for additional benefits including discounts for pay to play, access for computer WIFI, college application fees, and standardized testing fees.
Please note that students who reside in households that do not qualify for free or reduced meals due to income will still receive free school meals in the 2024/25 school year.
Drop off & Pickup: Please see the attached map. Students may arrive to the building at 7:00. Early students will need to wait in the café until they are released at 7:47 am. Classes start at 8:00. School ends at 2:45 p.m. The latest a student may be picked up after school is 3:30 p.m. We do not have after school supervision or childcare.
