Woodhaven High School AP Chemistry students celebrated Mole Day on October 23 with special treats! Mole Day is a nod to the mole as a unit of measurement. One mole contains exactly 6.02214076×10²³ atoms, molecules, ions, or other particles. A mole is equal to the atomic mass (from the periodic table) in grams and is used to make many predictions and calculations in Chemistry.





The student lighthouse team at Erving Elementary wanted to decorate the school with positive messages and encouraging words. They wrote their messages on an orange balloon and placed them throughout the school.

Mrs. Machlik's kindergarten students at Gudith Elementary School recently learned about autumn and pumpkins! They experimented with pumpkins, (will it float or sink?), learned about the pumpkin life cycle and enjoyed touching the pumpkin pulp and guts, separating the seeds and more!

Soniah Robinson, volleyball, Woodhaven High School: In a matchup on Oct. 15, Robinson rallied her team together to help the Warriors defeat the Wyandotte Bears after losing the first of a four set game. The junior outside hitter tallied 17 kills, 18 digs, two blocks and one ace.


Woodhaven High School SADD presents the "Haunted Hallways" at WHS on Friday, October 25 for from 7-9pm. Admission is $5 and this is a fundraiser for the school's SADD organization. Parents must accompany children, no drop offs please.

If you are curious about how to help prevent cyberbullying for your children, click on the link for some tips from Sunshine Behavioral Health. They share lots of information on how to spot the signs of cyberbullying and how to get help. Maybe even consider a social media break or media detox for the whole family. It might help. Wellness Wednesday
After working hard and having completed their stress management presentations, Life Skills students at Brownstown Middle School were able to practice some of the strategies they learned while rotating through stress management stations (art and creativity, movement, relaxation, journaling, and charades.)
Students learned and put into practice ways to manage your stress and anger, in a healthy, productive way.

Erving Elementary Students who are part of the Student Lighthouse Team work hard each year to make a difference in their school as well as their surrounding community. After their first meeting, they not only brainstormed a list of monthly spirit days for school but monthly service projects to help the community. Their first project was to decorate lunch bags and put together lunches for the homeless.
